Lamentations 3:20-26 (ESV)
20 My soul continually remembers it
and is bowed down within me.
21 But this I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
23 they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul,
“therefore I will hope in him.”
25 The Lord is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
26 It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
Book Chapter Verse
Lamentations 3:25 and 1 Corinthians 2:9 both highlight God's goodness and the hope He offers to those who seek Him. Lamentations emphasizes the Lord's faithfulness to those who wait for Him, suggesting patience and trust in God's timing. Similarly, 1 Corinthians 2:9 speaks of the “good things” God has prepared for those who love Him, underscoring the unseen blessings awaiting believers. Both verses call for a posture of waiting, seeking, and trusting in God’s plan, reminding us that, despite present circumstances, God’s goodness and promise for the future remain certain for those who remain faithful.
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your goodness that never fails. In moments of waiting and uncertainty, help us to trust in Your perfect timing and sovereign plan. Teach us to seek You with all our hearts, knowing that You are always faithful to those who long for Your presence. When we feel weary or lost, remind us of Your unshakable love and the hope You offer. Strengthen our faith as we wait on You, and fill us with peace, knowing that You are good and that Your promises are sure. In Jesus' name, Amen.
